As a professional outdoor activities operator, we affiliate with various institutions and collaborate with different companies. Here is a list of entities we currently work with.
THE BALEARIC MOUNTAINEERING & CLIMBING FEDERATION
We are federated with the Balearic Mountaineering and Climbing Federation, the Federación Balear de Montañismo y Escalada, FBME. This organisation promotes hiking, climbing, canyoning, mountaineering and trail running on the Balearic archipelago. This federation also runs its own school, offering courses to become a certified and properly qualified guide.
CLUB EIVISSENC DE MUNTANYA
We are members of the Ibicencan mountaineering club, the Club Eivissenc De Muntanya, CEM. Ibiza may not have any huge mountains, but we have many fantastic hiking routes and Ibiza also has a lot of great rock climbing spots. The CEM promotes rock climbing in general, keeps the climbing routes safe by renewing bolts and offers climbing courses for beginners. Moreover, there’s an indoor rock climbing centre in Es Vivé close to Ibiza town which is great for winter climbing training!
THE BALEARIC MOUNTAIN GUIDES ASSOCIATION
The Asociación de guías de montaña de las Islas Baleares is a consortium of certified hiking guides, mountain leaders, canyoning guides and climbing instructors. It’s a union of professionals that are passionate about anything outdoors and guarantee a sustainable approach to activities in our natural environment. Most members have either been born on the Balearics or have lived here for decades and the skills of this group, both the technical know-how as well as the knowledge about our archipelago is impressive. Stivi is part of this association and the members all share one thing: a profound love and respect for the Balearic Islands.
THE SPANISH MOUNTAIN GUIDES ASSOCIATION
The Asociación Española de Guías de Montaña, AEGM, is the national mountain guides association of Spain. Stivi is a a proud member of this circle, sharing expertise with other professional guides. If you look for a certified professional mountain guide anywhere in Spain, this is your go-to place. The members of this group belong to the very best of mountaineers in this country.
IBIZA SPOTLIGHT
The google of Ibiza as we like to call it, Ibiza Spotlight was actually founded in the pre-internet era, back then it used to be a printed island guide. And since the beginnings of the internet, Ibiza Spotlight has been the go-to place for any Ibiza visitor looking for reliable info. Showcasing the best of Ibiza, from nightlife to restaurants, beach recommendations and things to see, villa rentals and boat charters and up to sustainable and healthy activities such as the ones we offer, Ibiza Spotlight encapsulates it all. If it’s on Spotlight, it’s real.
IBIZAPRESERVATION
As the name says, this non-profit foundation’s aim is to preserve Ibiza’s and Formentera’s beauty and to protect and restore its natural resources.
We now officially collaborate with IbizaPreservation and so do you if you book a Balearic Outdoor Adventure:
Apart from a personal donation that we make annually, one Euro per every Balearic Outdoor Adventures client automatically goes to IbizaPreservation. If you would like to donate more than the 1€ I include in my rates by default, just let me know at the time of booking.
In times of high touristic pressure, the Balearic Islands face various challenges and the funds are put towards the following strategic programmes of the foundation:
- Circular Economy – promoting the reduction of single-use plastics and other waste.
- Marine Protection – preserving and protecting Posidonia seagrass meadows and keeping the Mediterranean Sea crystal clear and full of life.
- Biodiversity – protecting native creatures such as the iconic Ibiza wall lizard against invasive species and other threats.
- Ibiza Produce – connecting consumers with KM0 products and helping to regenerate Ibiza’s soils and landscapes.
- Ibiza Sustainability Observatory – collecting and analysing environmental indicators annually to improve knowledge of Ibiza’s socio-environmental problems and guide actions to better protect the island’s precious resources.
